Patch Clamp System (Aries)

Submitted by William on Sat, 11/22/2008 - 14:21

This system is based on a Axopatch 200B amplifier and has been optimized for low noise recordings. It is suited for single channel recordings. The system is equiped with a UV epifluorescence lamp to allow patching of GFP-transfected cells.  Components of the system include:

  • Nikon Diophot 300 inverted microscope
  • 10x and 40x air objectives. Also a 40x oil objective that should be used to detect GFP fluoresence
  • Axopatch 200B amplifier with DigiData 1322A ADC converter
  • Burleigh PCS-500 right-hand manipulator
  • Bio-Logic RS200 rapid solution changer
